For those of you who don't know, The Last Man Standing Rap Battle Tournament is being hosted by 'The Hip Hop Lounge' & F*CK YOU TV.
With 32 participents, and all rounds being drawn a couple of weeks ago by Greenz, it is sure to be a fiery affair - 'Heat One' is due on Sunday (07/11/10) and there is definitely going to be some good battles - so if you are unaware of this tournament going on, just keep following this blog for updates.
The thing that is unique about 'The Last Man Standing' is it isn't just battle orientated, the further you get into the tournament, the more your skills as an artist come into play - In the latter rounds/heats, or even the start of the next round/heat, it will be a 'Song Contest' where both emcees are given the same beat, and see who can come up with the goods on it.
Personally, I think this way it will showcase alot more talent, because I know battles can be funny sometimes but being a one trick pony can stick with an emcee, I wouldn't want that kind of stigma attached to me.
I am not sure if there is a host site for this yet, but I will keep you informed throughout the duration (Even if I get knocked out).
Keep your ears to the ground, there is sure to be some good battles & tracks to come out of this.
